Ha Ëmboǟ Kez (/ha/ /ɛmˈboaː/ [mauve] [insurance]) is a temperate Town located in the Krëchysnǟ Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Ha Ëmboǟ Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Ha Ëmboǟ Kez was founded by Eluneth Ningi, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez has a yearly average temperature of 8°C (46°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 25°C (77°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -9°C (16°F). Ha Ëmboǟ Kez receives an average of 152 cm/y (59 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Ha Ëmboǟ Kez covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3868 m (12690 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez was founded durring the late 16th century in summer of the year 1485, by Eluneth Ningi. The establishment of Ha Ëmboǟ Kez was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Eluneth Ningi struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Ha Ëmboǟ Kez as a prison colony.

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ha Ëmboǟ Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez is is constructed arround a series of restrictive gravel mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The minimaly adiquite have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Ha Ëmboǟ Kez, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its god. More than it loves wealth. The town is very clearly poor. Buildings are run down in ways that are not imeadiatly obvious. The people are a bit too thin. The market is very eager to sell to newcomers, but not so eager to buy from them. There’s also a general lack of the hum and buzz of healthy industry in Ha Ëmboǟ Kez.

Civic Infrastructure

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Ha Ëmboǟ Kez. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Ha Ëmboǟ Kez's parks.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Ha Ëmboǟ Kez's natural decorations nor waterways.

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Cultural Notes

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez has a long tradition of martial expertise. This may be a crisply-organized history of skilled native levies, or it may be a natural belligerence in the people that leaves them familiar with bloodshed. While their neighbors and liege doubtless respect their talents, this very aptitude might make them more willing to turn to steel than prudence would advise.

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

Ha Ëmboǟ Kez's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves drinking to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 1 via guttural bellowing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Mere Tana began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which devastated , killing every person and animal in its path which could not escape the cloud. Oddly, the plants of the region flourished in the years after the disaster. An estimated people, livestock, and buildings were lost to the disaster. The disaster is referred to as the Mourning Wind.
